Each month, TheQuiltingCoach sponsors an Eavesdrop on a Telephone Conversation with an expert in the field of quilting.
The series began with an expert machine quilter, Pam Bauer, followed with Bob Purcell, President of Superior Threads, H.D. Wilbanks of Hobbs Bonded Fibers - the batting company, and more.
After each interview, audio clips are added to TheQuiltingCoach.com. Each clip includes a question and answer from the interview, and all of them are accessible to members of the site.
The clips are split in this manner to take full advantage of the Search function within the site.
You can also invest in a copy of the interview at a special member price, just one of the special privileges of membership.

Alex Anderson - Picking Designs Alex Anderson The very first class I took was by a Mennonite woman named Lucy Hilty. Basically we studied Amish quilts, which then in turn meant feathers, cables, eight-pointed stars, when to put in background grids, when not to put in background grids, and all that kind of stuff. It's the basis of how I approach things. . . . keep reading
Alex Anderson and Blending the Values of Colors Alex Anderson If you look at my quilts, blending would not be the word that describes them. They're pretty "in your face." I don't worry about things like that. I believe that if one green is good, use all the greens in the world. If one blue is good, use all the blues . . . keep reading

How to Handle the Bulk of your Quilt as you Machine Quilt audio by Pam Bauer The next most important question was handling the bulk of the quilt, to keep it out of the way of our sewing, and to keep it fully supported so we don't end up with puckers in the middle of the sewing. If you could fill us in on how you handle the parts of the quilt that aren't directly under the needle? . . . keep reading

"I have recently discontinued my membership, but strongly feel the need to say that you have certainly had a huge influence on my life. Your internet quilting club has given me wings as a quilter. The reason I am discontinuing my membership isn’t because I am not satisfied with what I’ve gained from it, it’s because I’ve got so much to do – it will take me more than two years to complete it all. (I’m a slow quilter ok!) I have not got so many UFO’s (trust me, there are a few hidden safely away!) as that I have WDHT’s (wanna-do-haven’t-had-time’s).
Thank you Penny – your inspiration has been much appreciated.
