Pepper Cory - Eavesdrop on a Telephone Conversation - Unedited QuiltingCoach Penny
After I had been quilting for a few years, I ran across a book about sewing blocks with curves. I had looked at several quilts with curves and been intrigued with them, but decided that wasn't for me - it would be just too hard to get them to lay flat and look nice. When I flipped through the pages of this book, though, the light when on, and I realized that with just the few techniques in this book, I might actually be successful in sewing a quilt with curves in it. And sure enough, the first quilt I made that had some curved patches in it came out great! . . . keep reading

Trimming and Binding the Jelly Roll Quilt QuiltingCoach Penny

Machine Quilting the Jelly Roll Quilt QuiltingCoach Penny
Once your quilt is layered and basted, you are ready for quilting. Because this quilt is made using batik fabric, bamboo batting and was basted using basting spray, the best method for quilting will be machine quilting. . . . keep reading
Backing and Layering the Jelly Roll Quilt QuiltingCoach Penny
Because I had Jelly Roll strips left, I decided to create a backing using these strips. And because the strips were not long enough to go from top to bottom or from side to side, I decided it would be best to sew them together and create blocks for the backing of the quilt. . . . keep reading
Simple Sashing with Cornerstones Adds Interest QuiltingCoach Penny
Cornerstones are squares of fabric that are pieced within the sashing and fit in at the corners of the blocks. Although I had seen cornerstones in quilts, the first time I used them in a quilt was when I ran out of fabric in a border. . . . keep reading
Add Interest to your Quilt with Simple Sashing QuiltingCoach Penny
Sashing is what goes between the blocks in a quilt. Like quilt blocks, sashing can be very simple or it can be as complex as your quilt blocks. And some quilts have no sashing at all. . . . keep reading

"When I have been having problems getting in the mood to work on my quilts that I am committed to finishing by August I just have to check in at the quilting site and I'm back in the mood. It has been wonderful."

"I have recently discontinued my membership, but strongly feel the need to say that you have certainly had a huge influence on my life. Your internet quilting club has given me wings as a quilter. The reason I am discontinuing my membership isn’t because I am not satisfied with what I’ve gained from it, it’s because I’ve got so much to do – it will take me more than two years to complete it all. (I’m a slow quilter ok!) I have not got so many UFO’s (trust me, there are a few hidden safely away!) as that I have WDHT’s (wanna-do-haven’t-had-time’s).
Thank you Penny – your inspiration has been much appreciated.
Regards,"
